DMP Guidelines

  • The Debt Management Plan (DMP) is voluntary for both you and your creditors.

  • The signed DMP agreement must be received prior to us contacting your creditors.

  • We suggest you contact your creditors to inform them you will be starting a Debt Management Plan. Give them your client number as well as your counselor’s name and our telephone number.

  • Your monthly deposit may be made by money order or cashier’s check to:
  • CCCS of San Francisco
    595 Market Street, 15th Floor
    San Francisco, CA 94105

  • No cash or personal checks will be accepted! After your first payment has been sent to your creditors, you may begin making your deposits electronically.

  • Full payment is expected every month. If you are unable to pay please call us immediately; otherwise you may be dropped from the plan.

  • After the first 3 months, if you wish to increase your payments, you may do so.

  • You will receive a monthly Client Status Report after receipt of your first deposit.

  • Most of your creditors will continue to send you monthly statements. Your creditors’ policy of reporting to credit bureaus may vary.

  • Participation in the DMP does not protect you from legal action imposed by your creditors.

  • If at any time in the future you choose to resume payments on your own, you may do so. However, creditor concessions granted through the DMP may be forfeited.

  • Upon successful completion of the DMP, we will assist you in re-establishing credit.
